The Historic Day on Nov. 4th 2008

History has been made, and I am gladly to see on this day when I am alive. I believe the Obama campaign was effective, and the most of all President Elect Obama is highly in every way intelligent. He is smooth, calm and consistent of knowing what to say. Obama has a significant challenge ahead as a president of the United States on January 20th 2009.
Wow if you look at the United States Map with every county that is shaded for either red or blue, you would see about 70% red and 30% blue but though Obama receives more popular votes than any other candidate in United States history. Unsurprisingly, John McCain who is an underdog that lost by a landslide with 162 Electoral vote against 365 electoral vote. There were 9 states from the 2004 election that switch into blue states in 2008 election.
My recollection in every history class from high school to college, we’ve learned consistently the African-American History from slavery times to all the way down to Martin Luther King, and in conclusion Barack Obama the first African-American is in now the highest seat of power of the United States of America.

Impact from Endorsements?

I believe that endorsement for the candidate, does have an affect on voting behavior, especially in the primaries and for independent voters. The individuals with party identification has no influence by the endorsement unless it is in the primaries. For example, John Edwards, Ted Kennnedy, and Oprah Winfrey who endorsed Sen. Obama had a significat impact on voting behavior in the primaries. Hillary Clintion was very popular even before she'd enter the democratic presidential race, and i have never heard of Sen. Obama until he enter the race. During the Meet the Press on NBC, Colin Powell who endorse Obama does have an affect on independent voters because the fact that he is a conservative Republican. Also Joe Liberman endorsement might have an impact on voting behavior for the Republicans. Most of all i believe that the commentators have a significant influence on voting behaviors because thousands to millions of viewer who wants to understand politics can easily conceptualize what the commentators advocates. My analogy for endorsement influence are like the people who follow their parents, priests, and teachers voting for that candidate.

News Media Bias

I believe that fox news is probably the bias out of all the media industry and probably the most unfair. For example, on the title call "The Female Vote" there was a lady who was a guest on Fox News and a former supporter of Hillary, criticizing Obama on nothing that is appealing. I remember when i had a professor that showed us a documentary of about how Fox News was very corrupted and how they regulate and train theirs employees in a certain direction for and only conservatives. Back when i was in the air force ROTC, we were limit on channels to watch news in our lounge. We could only watch Fox News, and we could not watch CNN at all because it stands for communist news network. Though with my opinion, i believed that CNN is the fairest news of all

Foreign Policy in the Middle East

Sen. McCain advocates that Iraq is the central front against terrorism, and Iraq is to be consider as a pawn of Iran. He believes that the U.S. should support the Government of Iraq to become capable of governing itself. McCain anticipates if U.S. pull out troops in Iraq, then it will affect America in the future with a wider and far costlier war. Counterinsurgency is Sen. McCain's main objective to defeat them and win a war against terrorism. McCain and also Sen. Obama believes that the U.S. should be more aggressive towards Iran and Syria due to their behavior and support of terrorism. Sen. Obama wants to end the war in Iraq by withdrawing troops with the safest way and fastest ways as possible. After that, Obama plans to have a residual force that will conduct and fights against Al Qaeda in Iraq and train the Iraqi security forces to battle to opposition. I believe the two candidates has the same plan direction but I also believe that McCain wants to succeed in the Middle East. The war in Iraq already happened and is too late to withdraw, for else the American history repeats the lost to the Vietnam War.

Vice Presidential Debate

Gov. Palin was more appealing than Sen. Biden because the fact that Biden was more like a politician and answered the questions like a politician. He reminds me of John Kerry debate against George Bush in the 2004 election. Sarah Palin was more like her self, rather then trying to be a politician. John McCain's pick for his running mate was a good choice and a strategic choice. I liked it when Gov. Palin said, "I may not answer the questions that either the moderator or you want to hear, but I'm going to talk straight to the American people."

The Issue about Energy

The Republicans and Democrats platforms agrees on the issue that America should be more independent on energy. The differences are how their plans should be executed in the investment and development. The Republican wants invest more on drilling and development, while the Democrats wants to invest in research and development. For example the republicans wants to increase production like on-shore, off-shore drilling on American soil for energy independence. They also want to invest on the development of nuclear power for energy. The Republican's goal on energy will bring gas down, create jobs, and enhance national security. The democrats wants to have a green energy sector that will invest on wind turbines, plug-in hybrids, and solar energy generation plants. Also, they want to develop geothermal and bio-fuel. With all these factors, they believe it will create vast jobs. Base on my opinion, I believe America would be better off with the Republican's energy plan. Because with the Democrats on the notion of research and innovation, this will not solve the gas price issue in a immediate fashion. In this nation we heavily rely on oil for everything we own and that we rely our transportation with vehicles, buses, and airplanes.

The 1st presidential debate

The issue about the economy, Sen. Obama seems more confident then Sen. McCain, but McCain was okay too. Obama blames the Bush Administration on reasons why the economy is going through recession, and claims that McCain is fully behind it. McCain refuted to Obama because there are certain issues where McCain does not agree with the Bush Administration. To me McCain is Maverick, so he'll do what he believes in. McCain seem emotional, and speaks through his heart during the debate on foreign policy. Most of the time when its McCain's turn to speak on the issues of foreign policy, he always states to Obama, "you don't understand..." McCain was more knowledgeable and dominant in foreign policy issues than Obama.

The Legend of the Presidential Candidates of 2008

John McCain came from the U.S. Naval Academy, and also he exemplified a true U.S. hero who was a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. Remember our true U.S. heroic presidents which were George Washington and Dwight Eisenhower. My belief a good president doesn't necessarily have to come from a military background but if the president does come from a military background it means statistically he is fully committed to his country and is considered a true patriot for his country.

Barack Obama came from a very intriguing background due to the fact he did not come from a privilege family, but is to be considered a man with hope and faith to success. He came from a single-mother family and also lived without his mother for a certain period, and though his father and mother were highly educated people. Barack Obama is highly educated and highly intelligent because of his background of graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991. Obama exemplifies a fine, prominent men.

Which was a better strategy for the chosen Vice President?

If Senator Obama selected Senator Clinton as a running mate, then that would give him the leverage in this election, and that would of been an intellectual strategy to form a stronger and more powerful partisan. The conventional wisdom goes to Sen. McCain for his strategic selection of his running mate.

Delay for the 1st time in U.S. history for a presidential debate

President Bush invited Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama to discuss the proposed $700 billion bailout. Sen. McCain wanted to postpone the presidential debate to participate in negotiation on the bailout plan. However, Sen. Obama agrees to participate in negotiation on the bailout plan but concludes that the presidential debate on Friday should continue. Sen. Obama said, "it's my belief that is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person will be the next president..." To my knowledge, the $700 billion bailout is considered a historic financial crisis that would lead to an extensive recession; perhaps, on the verge like the Great Depression in the 1930s. Following the proposal of the postpone of the presidential debate, Sen. McCain stated, "All we must do to achieve this, is temporarily set politics aside, and I'm committed to do so; following September 11 our national leaders came together the time of crisis, we must show that kind of patriotism now..."
